Meet the President
STEPHEN P. WILSON

Steve
Wilson has more than 25 years experience in the banking and
financial services business. The emphasis in Steve's career
has been on business development and relationship management. |
|
Steve began his career in mortgage lending in 1973, as a
residential mortgage loan officer in Jacksonville, FL. He
progressed to branch manager in 1977 and to national production
manager in 1980. He became president and CEO in 1984 when
he formed Connecticut National Mortgage Company for The Hartford
National Corporation and Connecticut National Bank. In 1987
Steve formed a mortgage banking firm with a partner, which he
later joined as president in 1991. Steve and his partner sold
that company in 1994. Before moving to Hilton Head as a
permanent resident in 2000, Steve was Senior Vice President with
GMAC Commercial Mortgage Corporation, where he organized and
managed the National Accounts Office.
Steve's involvement in the Hilton Head community began with
his first visit to the Island in 1989 and his purchase of a
second home in Sea Pines in 1991. He is a Director of the Van
Landingham Rotary Club, Chairman of the Southern Beaufort County
Corridor Review Board, a member of the 2004-2005 Leadership
Class of the Hilton Head Island / Bluffton Chamber of Commerce
and a member of The Greater Island Committee. Subsequent to
leaving GMAC, Steve assisted in the development of two
entrepreneurial businesses on the Island and was with Carolina
First Bank as a Senior Vice President and residential loan
officer.
Steve formed Direct Realty Funding after leaving
Carolina First Bank at the end of 2002. Steve is married with
two children and is a graduate of Florida State University. He
enjoys golf and biking. |
